Re: Ryan Braun

Ryan Braun didn’t use PEDs the same way that O.J. Simpson didn’t kill Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. All of the evidence points to him being guilty, sure, but the mishandling of some evidence created enough doubt for the arbitrator to decide in Braun’s favor. MLB bore the burden of proof, and they were not able to meet it, according to the arbitrator.

It is important to note, however, that Braun did not challenge the failed test’s results, just the manner in which the sample was collected, and that is why his suspension has been lifted (for now). That anyone thinks that yesterday’s decision somehow “exonerates” or “redeems” or otherwise clears Braun’s name is a total joke to me. Until Braun meaningfully challenges the substance of the accusations made against him, instead of merely FedEx’s ability to deliver a package on the correct date to the correct location, I am not persuaded that Braun’s extremely elevated levels of testosterone were not due of PED use.

At least now he is free now to go out and look for the real PED user.
